Hillman History
Fannie Hillman + Associates, was founded in 1981 by Fannie Hillman. This independent, full-service residential real-estate agency was started by a single mother of three, when interest rates hovered around 15% to 19%. Now, over 25 years later, Fannie Hillman + Associates boasts more than 50 real-estate agents plus support staff.

Fannie Hillman was first a lab technician, then a school teacher before getting into the real estate business. In 1972, Don Saunders Real Estate of Winter Park hired Fannie. Within three months, she quickly set the standard of being top producer for the firm. Yearning for a bigger challenge, she opened up her own brokerage Fannie Hillman + Associates in Winter Park, Florida.

Scott Hillman joined the firm in 1982 and assumed a leadership role in 1988 “Scott brought the business mindset to the company that was needed to stand strong as an independent firm,” said Fannie Hillman. She credits her son with growing the company’s annual sales volume from approximately $39 million in 1988 to $235 million in 2006.
